v.2.15 - Kanban Board, Cumulative Flow Diagram

All the features described below appeared in TargetProcess v.2.15 (July-29)

TargetProcess v.2.15 requires .NET Framework 3.5. Please plan your upgrade accordingly.

Kanban Board

Problems: "We are using Kanban process and can't visualize flow in TargetProcess. It makes TargetProcess useless for our development environment".

Solution: Provide Kanban Board area with customizable states and limits.

Kanban Board

Kanban Board visualizes flow of User Stories and Bugs. It supports some nice actions:

  • Plan user stories and bugs from backlog using drag and drop.
  • Change states of user stories and bugs using drag and drop.
  • Set limits for states and highlight columns if limit is exceeded.
  • Set columns order.

Check Kanban Board in action video:

Cumulative Flow Diagram

Problem: When we are using Kanban, usual tracking charts do not provide any value. We are not using burn down charts and need a metric to track process.

Solution: Provide cumulative flow diagram.

A cumulative flow diagram (CFD) helps to track User Stories and Bugs by state.

It helps to track average cycle time. Cycle time helps answer the question "if I asked you to start on feature x when will it go live?" Also it shows work in progress (WIP) and helps to find bottlenecks.

Source Control Integration Unification

Problem: Source control integration setup is not usable. You have to set something in general admin, something in project details and something in user details.

Solution: Unify source control plugins. Remove dependency on svn.exe.

Now you may setup source control integration for all projects in a single place. Also there is no longer required to install Subversion on the server.
